Pumpkin Patch Fun!

Hi everyone,
I thought I'd share some pictures from our day at the Ford Family Farm which has become our favorite pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful day and the girls got to do sooo much! It was fun for all of us. :) I really cherish these times as I know the days are just around the corner when they will look at us and say "the pumpkin patch? seriously? we're not babies anymore ya know!"
(If you can't read the text on the pics, just click on them and it will enlarge them.)
Thanks for taking a peek ;)

The next few pictures are from the day, Aug. 17, 2008, that Randy baptized both of the girls. At different times during the last 12 months, they both had prayed to receive Christ. After lengthy discussions with both of them about what baptism means, we all decided they understood and were ready. It was a sweet, sweet time and a day none of us will ever forget! My babies both love Jesus and aren't ashamed for the world to know it...what could be better? :)

A VERY happy Lauren on the float in the parade!

Well, it's been 2 months since I've posted anything...let's see, we've had the start of school: 3rd grade from Lakin and Kinder (sniff, sniff...) for Lauren. They are loving school and both have wonderful teachers! Lauren has been taking ballet for several weeks now, and big sister has decided she wants to do it too. So, we'll now have two ballerinas in our home. Before Lakin made the decision to join, we had our Comal County Fair Parade, which Lauren got to be a part of. She got to ride on her dance academy's float...big stuff! I think she felt famous :)

Randy is enjoying his fairly new job with HEB. He's not crazy about the commute back and forth from downtown SA, but we love that his travel is a fraction of what it used to be. He has become quite the cycling fanatic. After starting out with a mountain bike and hitting trails, he got more interested in road biking and now he can be seen riding all through NB. He has really gotten so healthy... he has lost some 20lbs. and is so trim and fit...I'm soooo proud of him!!

As for the mom of this bunch, I've had a change in my world too. I recently had Lap Band surgery on the day of my 35th birthday, September 24. After years of struggling to keep myself at a healthy weight, and fighting an uphill battle against my hormones, Randy and I decided this was right for me. My mom was here to help get me through the first few days after surgery. Both she and Randy were so great and supportive! I'm healing up finally, and already losing too. My eating has been changed and will be changed even more drastically after my first band adjustment in a couple of weeks.

That's it for now...I'm going to "try" to get some pictures posted...haven't done that yet, so I don't know if I'll be successful or not!

I hope all of you are well and feel free to drop me a comment here on our blog!
Much love,
Monica
